Bobby Jones 2 wood set

The Bobby Jones Two Wood Set is made up of a Brassie and Spoon used by Jones during his Grand Slam year.  These two clubs are compliments to the 1930’s Grand Slam 14 club set and were used by Jones on a less regular basis but are the perfect complement to the full Grand Slam set.

Jones was the most successful golfer in the period between the World Wars to compete on a national and international level. During his peak as a golfer from 1923 to 1930, he dominated top-level competition, and competed very successfully against the world’s best professional & amateur golfers.   Jones often beat stars such as Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen, the era’s top pros.

Jones earned his living mainly as a lawyer, and competed in golf only as an amateur, primarily on a part-time basis, and chose to retire from competition at age 28, though he earned significant money from golf after that, as an instructor and equipment designer.

In 1930 he achieved the ‘Holy Grail of Golf’ winning all 4 majors–the U.S. Open, the U.S. Amateur, the British Amateur, and the Open Championship–in the same calendar year. The feat that has still never been repeated.
